Use a Hudl Bluetooth Remote with a Computer (Windows)

Wired Hudl remotes, Cowboy remotes and DSV remotes are not currently compatible.

Tips for Pairing the Remote

  • The four digit code on the back of your remote is your remote’s unique Hudl ID.
  • When you see a blinking red light after any button is pressed, the remote is ready to be paired.
  • If there is not a blinking red light on the remote, the remote is already paired with another device. Find this device and disconnect before connecting to a new device.
  • A yellow light blinking in the top right corner of the remote indicates a low battery. The faster the yellow light blinks, the lower the battery.
  • Your computer will call the Hudl Bluetooth Remote a Bluetooth Keyboard.
  • If you cannot get your remote to pair with your computer or if the remote doesn't show up as an option to pair, hold the Tag and Full buttons for three seconds to manually unpair the remote.

Windows 7

  1. Click the small white triangle on the task bar.

  2. Right-click the Bluetooth icon and select Show Bluetooth Devices.

  3. Click Add Bluetooth or other device.

  4. The remote will appear as Hudl- followed by your remote’s Hudl ID. Select the remote to pair.

    Hold the Tag and Play buttons for three seconds to pair, a blue light will confirm your remote is paired.

Windows 8 & 10

  1. Open the start menu and search for Bluetooth. Select Bluetooth and other devices settings.

    If Bluetooth Settings is not available or you only have the option for Bluetooth File Transfer, your computer is not compatible.

  2. The remote will appear as Hudl- followed by your remote’s Hudl ID. Select the remote to pair.

    Hold the Tag and Play buttons for three seconds to pair, a blue light will confirm your remote is paired.

Windows 11

  1. Open the start menu and search for Bluetooth. Select Bluetooth and other devices settings.

  2. Click Add device.

  3. The remote will appear as Hudl- followed by your remote’s Hudl ID. Select the remote to pair.

    Hold the Tag and Play buttons for three seconds to pair, a blue light will confirm your remote is paired.

Remote Button Control

  • LASER: Activate laser pointer.
  • FULL: Enter full-screen mode.
  • PREV: Skip back to the start of the last moment.
  • NEXT: Skip forward to the start of the next moment.
  • REV: Skip back 5 seconds.
  • SLOW: tap while paused to skip .1 seconds, hold for slow motion (forward).
  • REW: Tap to go back 5 seconds.
  • FF: Tap to go forward 5 seconds, hold to playback in 2x speed.
  • TAG: Does not currently have a function.
  • PLAY: Pause and play video.

  1. Click the Bluetooth icon and select Open Bluetooth Preferences.

  2. If the Bluetooth icon isn’t there, choose the Apple menu, then open System Preferences and select Bluetooth.

    If the Bluetooth icon still is not there, your computer is not compatible and will need to purchase a Bluetooth adaptor.

  3. The remote will appear as Hudl- followed by your remote’s Hudl ID. Select the remote and Pair.

    Hold the Tag and Play buttons for three seconds to pair, a blue light will confirm your remote is paired.
