Share a Live HTML Report

Haven't created a Hudl Sportscode Report before? Contact your local support team to get started with scripting an output window.

Hudl Sportscode Elite allows you to share a live report window as an HTML page with or without video. You'll be able to view this report on tablet or smartphone via the mobile web browser provided they are connected to the same WiFi network.

If you don't have a WiFi network available, you can create a Personal Network using a Mac computer. You can then connect your mobile devices to that network. If necessary, you can use a Ubiquiti Nanostation or other router/access point to extend the signal.

To share your live report as an HTML page, you'll need to create a local web server on your Mac using MAMP.

Configure MAMP

  1. Download and Install MAMP.

Note: You will only need the Free version. You do not have enter any payment information to utilize the app for the HTML export to work.

  2. Then, Download this file. Move the HTML_Export_Template.zip to the desktop (or any location of your choosing) and double click to unzip the Sportscode HTML Export folder.

  3. Open the MAMP software from your Applications folder in Finder.

  4. Within MAMP, select Preferences.

You can also open the settings by MAMP > Settings...

  5. Then select the Server tab.

  6. Click Choose... and select the Sportscode HTML Report folder on the desktop.

  7. Click the General tab and check Start servers and Stop servers. Uncheck all other boxes, then click OK.

  8. Quit MAMP.

Configure Sportscode

To share video from your live report with other devices, the Hudl Sportscode code window needs to be in Report mode and must be kept open for the duration of the game.

  1. Click Share in the toolbar of your report window.

If you don't see the Share icon, follow these steps to get it into your toolbar.

  2. Choose one of the three HTML Export folders inside the Sportscode HTML Reports folder. For this example, choose HTML Export 1.

The provided zip file contains folders for 3 exports. Additional folders can be added as needed.

  3. Choose an Update interval for the report. Leave this at 10 seconds unless advised differently by your local Hudl representative.

  4. If you'd like to export movie instances in your report, check Export movies and then click Start Export.

Playing back instance movies over WiFi won't always be possible--it'll depend on your signal strength and the amount of data to be transferred.

Start HTML Export

  1. Open MAMP.

  2. Check that the servers are started. They should start upon opening MAMP - if not, click Start Servers.

  3. Click WebStart on the MAMP interface.

  4. Select My Web Site from the browser window.

  5. Click HTML Export 1 to view the shared report.

  6. To view reports on other devices, use either the IP address or the local address.

Stop HTML Export

  1. Open MAMP, select Stop Servers and then, quit MAMP.

  2. Open Hudl Sportscode and click Stop Export in the Share menu.

  3. After the HTML export, delete all the files within the HTML Export 1 folder before starting a new one.

To ensure the best experience with HTML Export, delete these files after each session.
