Restart a Stalled or Queued iOS Upload

If an upload is stuck on your iOS device, follow the steps below to troubleshoot.

Do not update or uninstall the Hudl app—that'll delete the video you’re trying to upload.

Force Quit the Hudl App

  1. Double tap the home button on your iOS device. A thumbnail version of all the apps you're running will appear - you can see all of your open apps by swiping left or right.

  2. Drag the thumbnail of the Hudl app up off the screen. This will cause the app to force quit, then tap the home button again to return to your normal view.

Refresh Your Wi-Fi Connection

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.

  2. Select Wi-Fi.

  3. Toggle the Wi-Fi off, wait 10-15 seconds, then turn the wifi back on.

Make sure the device successfully connects to Wi-Fi after toggling the setting back on.

Check the Upload Status

  1. Open the Hudl App.

Make sure you're logged into the app as the same user that was logged in while recording

  2. Select the ‘Syncing’ icon option in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  3. Verify that the upload is now beginning to make progress.

  4. Leave the Hudl app open and keep the iPad from going to sleep or dying throughout the upload process.

  5. If the upload is still stuck, you can attempt to manually pull the video from the device.

If there's no progress after following these steps, contact Hudl Support.

FAQs

My upload is stalled. How do I fix it?

Perform the steps above and make sure that you’re connected to a strong wifi network while doing so.

I followed the steps to restart my stalled upload, but it didn’t work. Now what?

If it doesn’t work the first time, we recommend restarting the iPad and trying again. Trying these steps while connected to an alternate wifi network is a good idea too so that you can rule out an underlying problem relating to the network. If you are still running into issues, we recommend manually pulling the video. Contact our Support team for further steps.

I uninstalled the Hudl app because my upload was stalled. Now I can’t see it. Where did it go?

Unfortunately, if the Hudl app gets uninstalled or deleted while an upload recorded in the app is still pending, your recording will be erased. Always be sure that you do not have any pending uploads before uninstalling the Hudl app!

I don’t have wifi, will my video still upload?

We recommend being connected to a strong wifi connection from start to finish when uploading your video to avoid any issues during the upload. If you don’t have access to wifi at the moment wait until you’re re-connected then follow the steps above to restart the upload.

My video is uploading, but it is going really slow. What gives?

Upload speeds depend on the network that you are connected to. If the upload speeds are significantly slower, we recommend connecting to an alternate network. Run a connection test to check your upload speeds.
