Low Build Up
Rule Type: Event
Definition: A sequence of passes that 'enter and stays' in the defensive third, lasting for a minimum of 10 seconds, and including a minimum of 2 passes.
Goalkeeper Build Up
Rule Type: Event
Definition: Any sequence that includes a goalkeeper pass (open play or set play).
Mid Build Up
Rule Type: Event
Definition: A sequence of passes 'enter and stays' in the middle third, lasting for a minimum of 10 seconds, and including a minimum of 5 passes.
High Build Up
Rule Type: Event
Definition: A sequence of passes 'enter and stays' in the attacking third, lasting for a minimum of 10 seconds, and including a minimum of 5 passes.
Counter Attack
Rule Type: Event
Definition: A sequence of passes following a regain that progresses up the pitch by 20 metres within minimum 5 seconds.
High Regain
Rule Type: Event
Definition: When a team regains possession of the ball in the attacking third.
Switch of Play
Rule Type: Event
Definition: Moving the ball from one horizontal third of the pitch, to the other, within 6 seconds.
Turnover Possession
Rule Type: Event
Definition: When a team loses possession.
Long Pass
Rule Type: Event
Definition: A pass that goes further down the length of the pitch than 30 meters(do we include angle here, or 'closer to oppo goal'.
High Press

Definition: When a player in possession in the defensive third has no passing options available (need passing options from tracking data).
High Block
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Team without the ball has 6 players in their attacking half for 5 seconds.
Mid Block
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Team without the ball has 6 players in their middle third, when the attacking team has possession in the middle third for 5 seconds.
Low Block

Definition: Team without the ball has 6 players in their defensive third, when the attacking team has possession in their attacking third for 5 seconds.
1v1
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: When the ball is received by a player, and 1 defender is within 10 meters of them at the moment of reception.
1v2
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: When the ball is received by a player, and 2 defenders are within 10 meters of them at the moment of reception.
2v1

Definition: When the ball is received by a player, and 1 defender and 1 teammate are within 10 meters of them at the moment of reception.
3v1

Definition: When the ball is received by a player, and 1 defender and 2 teammates are within 10 meters of them at the moment of reception.
Line Breaking Pass
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: A successful pass that bypasses one line of the opponents shape.
e.g. a center back passing to a midfielder who is located between the strikers and midfield of the opponent.
Pass Inside to In (Team Shape)
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Ball passed from inside the opposition shape, and received within the opponents shape. Any successful reception within the boundaries of the opposition team shape (as if a polygon has been drawn around them).
Pass Inside to Out (Team Shape)
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Ball passed from inside the opposition shape, and received outside the opponents shape. Any successful reception within the boundaries of the opposition team shape (as if a polygon has been drawn around them).
Pass Outside to In (Team Shape)
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Ball passed from outside the opposition shape, and received within the opponents shape. Any successful reception within the boundaries of the opposition team shape (as if a polygon has been drawn around them).
Pass Outside to Out (Team Shape)
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Ball passed from outside the opposition shape, and received outside the opponents shape. Any successful reception within the boundaries of the opposition team shape (as if a polygon has been drawn around them).
Receiving in Space
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: A successful reception where the receiver has 3 meters of space from the defending team.
Run in Behind
Rule Type: Event & Tracking
Definition: Any run off the ball that ends behind the deepest defender.
