Create Premium Highlights for Your Team and Athletes

  1. Log in to Hudl.com and click Highlights.

  2. To create a Team Highlight, click Create Highlight on the team profile page.

    If there isn't an option to create highlights, you haven't tagged any team highlights. Click here to learn how.

  3. To create an Athlete Highlight, click the Team Tab.

  4. Select the athlete.

  5. Click Create Highlight on the athlete's profile page.

    If there isn't an option to create highlights, you or the athlete haven't tagged any highlights. Click here to learn how.

  6. Click the pencil icon.

  7. Enter a title for the highlight and click Done.

    Keep the title under the 25 character limit.

  8. Click the + icon to add content, including:

Add Video

  1. Click Videos.

  2. Use the team and season drop-downs to browse your team’s highlights.

  3. Select the game with the highlights you’d like to include.

  4. Check the box next to an individual highlight or Select All.

  5. Click Add Clip to Your Reel.

    You can also click and drag the clips to the left and drop them into the reel.

  6. To delete a clip, hover over the thumbnail and click the trash can icon.

  7. To edit a clip, hover over the thumbnail and click the pencil icon.

  8. To trim a clip, select the scissor icon. Add a spot shadow by clicking the circle icon. Add text by clicking the Aa icon. Preview the highlight by clicking the play icon. Click and drag clips to re-order them on the timeline.

Add Music

  1. Click Music.

  2. Use the drop-down to select a genre.

  3. Check the box next to the song you prefer.

    You can also click and drag songs to the left and drop them into the reel.

  4. Click Add This Song to Your Reel.

Add Slides

  1. Click Slides.

  2. Choose a slide type.

  3. Enter the text you'd like on that slide.

    If you chose a slide with pictures, use the Choose a Photo browser to upload a picture.

  4. Click Add This Slide to Your Reel.

Add Photos

  1. Click Photos.

  2. Use the Choose a Photo browser to upload a picture.

    You can also drag and drop a photo file into the editor window.

  3. Click Choose a New Photo or Add This Photo to Your Reel.

Once you've finished editing, click Publish to return to your team profile page and view or share the highlight reel.

FAQs

I don’t see the star icon next to any of my clips. Where is it? (Hudl Classic only)

If your video was uploaded as practice or scout film, the option to ‘star’ or ‘highlight’ clips will not be available on the playlist. A coach will need to download the playlist and then re-upload it as game film in order to have the ability to create highlights from it.

When I go to create a highlight, the screen gets stuck loading. What do I do?

Can I add my own music to my highlight?

Due to copyright laws, you cannot use or upload your own music in Hudl highlights. However, Hudl has a variety of mixes that you can choose from.

How do I download my highlights?

In order to obtain your highlight in mp4 format, you will need to order the highlight.
